In partnership with the American Heart Association, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. members nationwide “wear red” to raise awareness of women facing heart disease during the Pink Goes Red for Heart Health Community Impact Day.
In celebration of Pink Goes Red for Heart Health, over 18 members of Mu Epsilon Omega and guests took part in a high energy workout class with Elijah Winton, trainer from Rhinos Rugby Club/Training Academy, to bring awareness to heart disease. To make the workout fun and impactful, participants performed a series of exercises with strength training and games. Participants definitely worked up a sweat!
The following day, MEO member Jackie Eubany, a noted cardiologist, spoke to a room full of members on underestimating the susceptibility to heart disease as women. MEO members walked away equipped with important information to help them live a healthier life!
